Local farmers generally produce old-growth red tea only by commission, due to cost of materials and higher demand for maocha for Pu'er production. We've managed to bring in a few kilos here and there from a cousin of Yimu's whose family produces some of the best reds on the mountain.
Soft, roasted character, refined aromatics and silky mouthfeel all integrate into a singularly exceptional experience. Palate includes caramel and vanilla notes accompanied by Jingmai Mountain's signature orchid scent. Silken liquor glides effortlessly down the throat leaving behind pervasive fragrance & sweetness.
While similar in profile to our 'Ecological Red', focused brewing will reveal depth and fragrance expression that testifies to this tea's old-growth origin.
