A fine example of one of the most prolific shoucha productions in Pu’er tea culture - Menghai Factory's ‘7572'. This version was stripped of its wrappers and broken up early in life prior to being exported to Hong Kong.
Large leaf material and full fermentation provide a broad platform for flavor development. Initial storage took place in Hong Kong before this tea returned to the mainland about a decade later. Kunming's drier and cooler conditions carried this tea into a second transformation stage. Hints of aged aroma - chenxiang, and shenxiang - ginseng fragrance, reveal that this tea is on the way to becoming equally as enjoyable if not surpassing its older sibling* over the coming decade.
